Our management team have been involved in the following cases:
Blackmail Scam
After being sued for negligence, our client was about to settle a multi-million
dollar suit and rewrite their entire software package because the plaintiff
was charging: 1. Installation of the software in question had permanently
damaged/erased existing files 2. The irreplaceable data not recoverable
by any means 3. Could not access files in a specific software application
critical to running his business.
The data forensics team were able to restructure and reformat all the files
needed for the claimant's specific software application and reprogram data.
Using electronic data discovery, forensic and analysis applications we discovered
that the software installation had not caused the data loss and determined
the plaintiff had manually erased the alleged lost data! When shown the
evidence the plaintiff dropped the suit and was promptly counter sued.
Trucking Company as defendant:
After being sued for wrongful death in a traffic accident our client needed
access to GPS data dating from 10 years previous. Problem was the GPS data
was saved on an old "mainframe" computer fed by outdated 9-track
data tapes. The data forensics team were able to isolate from the records
of approximately 350 commercial trucks over a 10-year period, the specific
driver in question's travel records over a two-year period, and translated
the data to a PC readable format. Both sides were satisfied with the integrity
of the data and the unfortunate case was ruled an accident.
Data Discovery from Burnt Hard Drives:
The figure below is an illustration of one of five fire-damaged UNIX server
drives literally shoveled out of the debris from a large auto dealership.
The (plastic-material) backup tapes had been co-located with the server
drives and were themselves destroyed, all financial data - inventory, accounts
payable and receivable, W-2s, customers and loan information - was destroyed.
Within three days the data forensics team was able to recover 100% of the
data from four of the drives, 99% was recovered from the fifth drive.

Exchange Server E-Mail Recovery:
In a breach of contract case, it was decided on a Thursday to use the data
forensics team to recover company emails. Attorney needed all plaintiff
company's emails and attachments over a six-month period meeting keyword
and time/date criteria, immediately. Over 980,000 total emails met criteria.
Emails and system were password protected and the passwords were not available.
Using password encryption proprietary program and programming knowledge
of email system, the data forensics team was able to locate all emails and
attachments meeting selected criteria and electronically transmitted them
to the court within only five days. Case was settled in the plaintiff's
favor on the seventh day.
